I n recording this species from Beirut, Selys suggested the name
syriacum -as
for a race. These specimens differ little from others from East and South Africa. They are rather smaller (abd. 27-28; h.-w. 19
-
20
).
The Jericho specimen has a pale labrum; this is usually black.
