Locality and type material. Holotype female and four paratype females: Arequipa , Camaná, El Cardo ( 16°36'34''S , 72°43'45''W ), 16-VII-2006 , on Ricinus communis L, A. D. Guanilo, deposited at ESALQ-USP. Four paratype females: same collection data as holotype , deposited at MHN. Etymology. The name parabelizensis refers to the similarly between this new species and Proprioseiopsis belizensis (Yoshida-Shaul & Chant) . Remarks. This new species is similar to P . belizensis , P . ovatus and P . dominigos . Proprioseiopsis belizensis differs by having reticulate dorsal and genital shields. Proprioseiopsis ovatus differs by having the setae j3, z2 and z4 approximately 0.7, 0.7 and 0.5 times as long, respectively, as those setae on the new species. Proprioseiopsis dominigos differs by having seta z2 shorter than z4. This new species belongs to belizensis species group of Chant & McMurtry (2005a) . Proprioseiopsis peruvianus (Moraes & Mesa) Amblyseius peruvianus Moraes & Mesa , in Moraes et al . 1991 : 127 . Proprioseiopsis peruvianus , Moraes et al . 2004: 186 ; Chant & McMurtry 2007 : 89 . Previous records. PeruUcayali ( Moraes et al . 1991 ). Remarks. No additional specimens were found in this study.
