(snow pea). Leaf mine. ( Fig. 164 ) A whitish, dramatically widening, serpentine mine with frass in alternating, dark green, beaded strips. Puparium. Yellowish brown; formed outside the mine. Comments. The coloration of these pale females cannot reliably associate them with known Nearctic species from Fabaceae , including L. trifolii , which has a higher gena, well-developed ori (anterior reduced in these females) and slightly different coloration across the head, thorax and abdomen.
