Thaumatomerobius
Ponomarenko 1985
Type
species:
Thaumatomerobius mirabilis
Ponomarenko, 1985
: 92
(by original designation).
Diagnosis.
Wing subcostal veinlets dense and irregularly forked; RA area with at least three irregular rows of cells; RP sharply curved anteriorly in distal part of wing, distal RP branches slightly angled posteriorly and lacking crossveins.
Comments.
This monotypic genus is known only from two wing fragments. Originally placed in
Prohemerobiidae,
Khramov (2017)
appropriately argued that it is better placed in
Saucrosmylidae
based on the rows of cells in the expanded area between RA and RP, and the convergence of RP with RA in the distal part of the wing.
