Diagnosis.
Male: yellowish brown coloured species, with wing
1.10–1.46 mm
long. AR 1.06–1.37; ultimate flagellomere 336–400 μm; length of 2–4 flagellomeres of maxillary palpomeres 279–315 μm; frontal tubercles conical, 12–18 μm long. LR

1.26–1.53; combs of mid and hind tibiae with 2 spurs. T-shaped anal tergite band; 1–2 lateral setae present; anal point with 25–45 small spinulae at base; 3–5 small median tergite setae close to anal point; superior volsella oval; median volsella strongly curved, without microtrichia, with simple lamellae, stem 30–39 μm long.
Redescription. Adult male
(n=6). General colour yellowish brown. Total length
1.5–1.7 mm
; total length/wing length 1.15–1.35.
Head

). Frontal tubercles conical, 12–16 μm long. Temporal setae 3–8. Clypeus with 7–14 setae. Maxillary palp yellowish, 279–315 μm long; lengths of last 4 palpal segments (μm): 21–33, 69–87, 78–90, 102–111. Palp length/head width 1.20–1.37. Scapus brown, flagellomeres (1–10) dark-brown, 616–720 μm long. AR 1.20–1.37. Ultimate flagellomere 336–400 μm long. Antenna length/palp length 2.17–2.39.
Thorax
. Ground colour of scutum yellowish, mesonotal strips brown or dark brown. Ac 9–12, Dc 7–8, Pa 1. Scutellum yellowish or yellowish brown, with 6–10 setae. Postnotum dark brown.

Hypopygium

). Anal tergite bands T-type; 3–5 median setae at anal point base; 1–2 lateral setae; small microtrichia-free areas present on each side of anal point base. Anal point 30–39 μm long, wide at about apical 1/3, apically thin and pointed; 25–45 small spinulae between anal crests; 8–10 lateral setae at anal point base. Gonocoxite 84–99 μm long; with 5–6 setae along inner margin. Width of transverse sternapodeme 45–54 μm. Phallapodeme 66 μm long. Superior volsella oval, 30–36 μm long, with 3–4 dorsal (sometimes situated on tubercle) and 3 median setae, without microtrichia. Digitus absent. Stem of median volsella 30–39 μm long, total length 60–69 μm, median volsella strongly curved posteriorly with simple lamellae, microtrichia absent. Inferior volsella
60–72 mm
long, apically club-shaped, with 9–12 distal setae. Gonostylus 51–60 μm long, with 4–5 setae in apical part and 1 apical seta. HR 1.40–1.76.

Remarks.
When comparing the morphometric data of males described in
Ekrem (2007)
and our data, no significant differences were found (see
Table 2
).
Distribution.
Widely distributed in Europe, Eastern Palearctic and Nearctic (Saether & Spies 2004).
