Suriname , Sipaliwini , Raleighfallen Nature Reserve , trail to Raleighfallen , detrital pools near creek in forest, 4°42.480ʹ N , 56°13.159ʹ W . Diagnosis. This species differs from others mainly in characteristics of the male genitalia. The male median lobe is relatively unmodified, short and abruptly narrowed apically in ventral aspect ( Fig. 2 ) and in lateral aspect curved and evenly tapered apically ( Fig. 1 ). The lateral lobes are more distinctive with the ventral ramus laterally lobate, apically narrowed and with distinctive setae ( Figs. 3, 4 ), and the dorsal ramus slender and curved in lateral aspect ( Fig. 3 ) and very broad and apically truncate in ventral aspect ( Fig. 4 ). This is a pale species with the head and pronotum yellow and the elytron evenly dark orange. The basally broad and apically strongly narrowed median lobe ( Fig. 2 ) is somewhat similar in shape to Desmopachria margarita Young , but the combination of a distinctively broad dorsal ramus and slender, pointed ventral ramus of the lateral lobe in ventral aspect is different from any other D. nitida species-group species. Description. Measurements: TL = 1.6 mm , GW = 1.0– 1.1 mm , HW = 0.5–0.6 mm , EW = 0.3 mm , TL/GW = 1.5–1.6, HW/EW = 1.8–1.9. Coloration: Head and pronotum evenly yellow. Elytron evenly dark orange. Ventral surface of head, prosternum, head appendages, and pro- and mesolegs yellow, other ventral surfaces and metalegs darker orange. Male genitalia: Male median lobe in lateral aspect short, broadly curved, apical portion evenly curved, convergent to pointed apex ( Fig. 1 ). Median lobe in ventral aspect very broad basally, abruptly constricted medially, apical portion narrow, apex pointed ( Fig. 2 ). Lateral lobe relatively narrow in lateral aspect, apically bifid, ventral ramus curved, medially broadly expanded, apex narrowly pointed ( Fig. 3 ), dorsal ramus in ventral aspect broad and apically truncate, in lateral aspect slender, sharply curved, and apically sharply pointed ( Fig. 4 ). Variation. One of the three specimens is lighter in color (possibly teneral). Etymology. This species is named curseenae in honor of Dr. Kimberly A. Curseen, MD. Distribution. This species is known from one locality in Sipaliwini , Suriname ( Fig. 71 ). Habitat.
