Type material. HolotypeMNHN A28578 . The type measures 16 mm length, with a width of 3 mm ( Caze et al. 2010 ). Type locality. Chaussy , France Lutetian . Diagnosis. The shell is moderately ovate and elongated, with the widest part being just below the adapical end of the aperture. The apex is moderately blunt. The surface of the shell is smooth with faint sinuous growth lines. The labial callus is well-developed and conspicuous. The labrum is not thickened and has a moderately quadrate profile. The columella is recurved backward near the base. The base of the labrum does not extend as far as the end of the columella. The anterior of the body whorl has fine axial grooves. Distribution. Lutetian— France Chaussy, Val d’Oise ( Caze et al. 2010 ); Grignon, Yvelines ( Caze et al. 2010 ); Beynes, Yvelines ( Caze et al. 2010 ); Saulx-Marchais, Yvelines ( Caze et al. 2010 ); Fercourt, Oise ( Caze et al. 2010 ); Parnes, Oise ( Jung 1974 ; Caze et al. 2010 ). Remarks. This shell is only distinguishable from S. chilophorus by the residual colour under UV; for compara- tive remarks see that species.
