The genus was recently reassigned to the Fidicinini from the Cryptotympanini ( Marshall et al. 2018 ) and is assigned to the Guyalnina here. Members of the genus are characterized by the head being much wider than the mesonotum, the coloration at the base of the wings, and the continuous narrowing of the posterior body from the mesonotum to the abdominal terminus. DISTRIBUTION. Species of the genus has been reported previously in Bolivia , Brazil , French Guiana , and Peru ( Metcalf 1963a ; Sanborn 2011a; 2013; Maccagnan & Sanborn 2015 ).
