This species was described from females collected from Cameron Highlands by
Edwards (1928)
. The female
terminalia
were illustrated by
Takaoka and Suzuki (1984)
, and the female and male were described by Takaoka and Davies (1995). The pupa and larva of this species were recently described based on specimens collected from a small stream (ca.
4 m
wide) at a high elevation of
1,315 m
in Cameron Highlands by Ya’cob
et al.
(2018a).
It is characterized by the darkened legs of the female and male, bare pupal frons and six pupal gill filaments.
