This is one of the largest genera of
Phlaeothripinae
, with 129 species listed worldwide (Mound 2012). These thrips are usually found on dead branches, although some are associated with leaf litter. Inter and intra-specific variation in the genus is discussed briefly by
Mound
et al
. (1976)
, and at one time this genus was listed under the name
Phlaeothrips
(
Kloet & Hincks 1964
)
. One unknown species was recorded from
Iran
by Jalali Sandi
et al
. (2011). One male of an unidentified species of the genus has been studied.
