Pieri and Rivoire identified <taxonomicName class="Agaricomycetes" family="Phanerochaetaceae" genus="Ceriporia" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Fungi" lsidName="Ceriporia camaresiana" order="Polyporales" pageId="29" pageNumber="30" phylum="Basidiomycota" rank="species" species="camaresiana">Ceriporia camaresiana</taxonomicName> (Bourdot & Galzin) Bondartsev & Singer as the most similar species to <taxonomicName class="Agaricomycetes" family="Phanerochaetaceae" genus="Ceriporia" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Fungi" lsidName="Ceriporia pierii" order="Polyporales" pageId="29" pageNumber="30" phylum="Basidiomycota" rank="species" species="pierii">Ceriporia pierii</taxonomicName> , but our data show that the two are not closely related (Figure 2). Basidiospores of <taxonomicName class="Agaricomycetes" family="Phanerochaetaceae" genus="Ceriporia" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Fungi" lsidName="Ceriporia camaresiana" order="Polyporales" pageId="29" pageNumber="30" phylum="Basidiomycota" rank="species" species="camaresiana">Ceriporia camaresiana</taxonomicName> are clearly curved, mostly bean-shaped and longer, 5.26 <normalizedToken originalValue="×">x</normalizedToken> 2.74 <normalizedToken originalValue="µm">µm</normalizedToken> (Table 5). Moreover, the hyphal structure is different: in <taxonomicName class="Agaricomycetes" family="Phanerochaetaceae" genus="Ceriporia" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Fungi" lsidName="Ceriporia camaresiana" order="Polyporales" pageId="29" pageNumber="30" phylum="Basidiomycota" rank="species" species="camaresiana">Ceriporia camaresiana</taxonomicName> hyphae are mostly long-celled and not inflated, covered with small resinous droplets, and their diameter is approximately the same in all parts of the basidiocarp (3-4 <normalizedToken originalValue="µm">µm</normalizedToken> in trama and 4-5 <normalizedToken originalValue="µm">µm</normalizedToken> in subiculum). </paragraph> <caption pageId="29" pageNumber="30"> <paragraph pageId="29" pageNumber="30">Table 5.
