Notes.
Scolia (Carinoscolia) yunnanensis tibetensis
Betrem
was reported as a subspecies of
C
.
yunnanensis
Betrem, 1941
.
Betrem (1941)
mentioned some differences between them: only T3 with yellowish brown spots, metasoma with blue reflections, wings brownish, but not dark, with golden reflections and carina on frons indistinct, S2 with a distinct tubercle in
C. tibetensis
. We did not have the chance to examine the specimen from
Tibet
, but we found a female of
C. yunnanensis
(det.
Betrem, 1967
) in RMNH from
Fujian
, which has the characters of
C. tibetensis
displayed above, to be conspecific with specimens of nominate
C. yunnanensis
; both shared some characters of
C. tibetensis
and, therefore, we synonymize both subspecies.
