REMARKS : The previous records of Magelona rosea Moore, 1907 in the European waters are considered as doubtful and species was assigned to M. minuta ( Eliason 1962b ) . This is probably also the case of Adriatic records of M. rosea which are included under M. minuta . ? Magelona papillicornis O.F. Müller, 1858 DISTRIBUTION : NA, CA, SA. LITERATURE RECORDS : Fauvel 1938 ; Vatova 1940a ; Katzmann 1972 ; Marcuzzi 1972 ; Cognetti-Varriale & Zunarelli-Vandini 1978 ; Ambrogi et al . 1983; Bedulli et al . 1984 ; Del Piero et al . 1984 ; Ambrogi et al . 1987 , 1990; Parisi et al . 1990 ; Požar-Domac 1994 ; Solis-Weiss et al . 2004; Simonini et al . 2007 . REMARKS : The presence of Magelona papillicornis (species with type locality in Brazil ) in the European waters is questionable (Fiege et al. 2000) and these records should be assigned to M. mirabilis (Johnston, 1865) and M. johnstoni Fiege, Licher & Mackie, 2000 . That is most probably also the case of the Adriatic records of M. papillicornis . However, since currently it is not possible to check to which one of the two species each Adriatic record should be assigned to, it was preferred to leave them as M. papillicornis . In the future, with new findings of Magelona specimens in the region, it will be possible to have a better idea to which of the species the records may be attributed, with a higher degree of confidence.
