[MC] Riccarton Bush, Christchurch.
Broun number:
2465.
Notes:
Broun mentioned that he examined five specimens for this species: only four in the BMNH Broun collection were located. There are two additional specimens in the BMNH Broun collection that do not match the locality data and are not considered to be part of the
syntype
series. There are also five specimens in the NZAC with Broun handwritten labels lacking locality labels and are not considered to be part of the
syntype
series. Similarly, eight specimens with Broun handwritten labels and
12 specimens
with labels in Brookes’ hand that do not match the locality are not considered to be
syntypes
. In order to stabilize this name, a
lectotype
and three
paralectotypes
are
here designated
for
Bryaxis costata
.
