Remarks:
—
Cyathea zongoensis
was described as being trunkless but the Peruvian material includes plants with trunks to several meters tall. In this aspect, the species displays a similar plasticity as
C. frigida
and
C. praetermissa
Lehnert (2011a: 38)
, which further resemble
C. zongoensis
in the frond dissection and texture.
