Moshi river near Isad vill., Gangakhed , Aurangabad , Maharashtra , India ; NZSI . COMMENTS. This species was described in the subgenus Reddyanus (misspelled Raddyanus [sic]) because of the position of trichobothrium db (see fig. 817 in Tikader & Bastawade, 1983: 285), which Tikader & Bastawade (1983: 286) used to place also Isometrus europaeus ( Linné, 1758 ) (= Isometrus maculatus (DeGeer, 1778)) in that subgenus. Without seeing the types , this and other incorrect information in that work would cause me to place the species in the subgenus Isometrus . This is primarily due to Fig. 814 of Tikader & Bastawade (1983: 285), which is a rendition of a male showing sexual dimorphism characteristic of the subgenus Isometrus , i.e. segments of pedipalp longer than in the female. Unless it becomes possible to examine the types , it is fruitless to speculate which characters given in the description are correct or erroneous. Since according to the description this species differs from all known species of the subgenus Reddyanus in sexual dimorphism and from all species of the subgenus Isometrus in the position of trichobothrium db , the only option available to me is to consider it a nomen dubium .
