Doryphoribius flavus ( Iharos, 1966 ) sensu lato [T] Doryphoribius citrinus (Maucci) ( Claps & Rossi 1997 ) Terra typica : Hungary (Europe) Uruguay : 31°03′S , 57°38′W ; 50 m asl : Salto Department, Arroyo Palomas, mosses or lichens on rocks, trees or posts or soil. Claps & Rossi (1997) 34°10′S , 55°49′W ; 50 m asl : Florida Department, Arroyo San Juan, mosses or lichens on rocks, trees or posts or soil. Claps & Rossi (1997) Record numbers: Uruguay : 2; total: 2. Remarks: This species has a rather disjunct distribution ( McInnes 1994a ) that could indicate the need for further taxonomic analysis, especially in the light of numerous recently described Doryphoribius species (see Degma et al. 2009–2014 and key in Michalczyk & Kaczmarek 2010). This was also confirmed in a recent discussion on the synonymy of Doryphoribius flavus and Doryphoribius citrinus by Lisi (2011) who states, “...the records of D. flavus in South America , in South Africa and in Bali are incorrect. This means the geographic distribution of D. flavus requires re-evaluation…”.
