Widely distributed in Florida (United States), Greater Antilles, southern México, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador and French Guyana ( Eades et al. , 2016 ). In Colombia has been previously recorded in Amazonas , Antioquia , Boyacá , Cauca , Caldas , Caquetá , Cesar , Choco , Cundinamarca , Huila , Magdalena , Meta , Risaralda , Santander , Tolima and Valle del Cauca (Chamorro Rengifo et al. , 2011) and is here recorded for the first time for Nariño . As evidenced by records, N. affinis is the most common species of the genus Neoconocephalus and the family Tettigoniidae in Colombia . Specimens examined. 1 male ( Fig. 11 ) and 1 female (PSO-CZ).
