(
De
Leon) and
Neoseiulus neotunus
(
Denmark

No additional specimens of this species were found in this study.
Neoseiulus chascomensis
(Sheals)
was described based only on the
holotype
, collected in Buenos Aires,
Argentina
. No further specimens of this species have been reported in the literature.
N
.
tranversus
is known only from the
holotype
, the allotype and a specimen reported by
Furtado
et al
. (2007)
from
Argentina
. Ragusa & Athias-Henriot (1973) considered
N
.
chascomensis
to differ from
N

barkeri
and
N

tranversus
Denmark
& Muma by having gland pore “gd2” present, by the different lengths of setae z2 and s4 and macrosetae on tarsus IV, as well as by the different shapes of the ventri-anal shield and of the spermatheca. These differences could represent intra-specific variations. A conclusion in relation to the possible synonymy among those species would require the collection of additional specimens of

Remarks.
This species was originally described from a single adult male; measurements of specimens from California,
USA
(the state from where this species was originally described) were given by
Schuster & Pritchard (1963)
. In specimens collected in this study, seta z4 was 0.8 times as long as reported by
Schuster & Pritchard (1963)
; otherwise, the measurements of the specimens collected in this study are very similar to those given by those authors.
