The female of A. cellularis differs from all species with a petiolate submarginal cell III in having red legs. The male is unknown. Description. Female. Body length 18 mm . Head . Mandible dark brown, with light brown patch medially. Clypeus with rounded ventral margin. Clypeus in the upper quarter, subantennal area and part of paraocular area covered with appressed silvery setae. Erect setae of head white. Flagellomeres black. Mesosoma . Black, pronotum and mesoscutum glabrous; mesoscutum slightly transversely striate and with irregular foveae. Mesopleuron covered with dense appressed silvery setae. Propodeum covered with sparse appressed silvery setae; posterolaterally covered with dense, appressed silvery setae. Erect setae white. Propodeal enclosure glabrous, obliquely striate. Tegula red. Wings . Hyaline; wing venation brown. Submarginal cell III petiolate. Legs . Red; coxa, trochanter, tarsi and hindtibia partly brown. Metasoma . Red, T5, T6 partly dark brown. Material examined. Kazakhstan : Holotype of Ammophila cellularis Gussakovskij , ♀, Pavlodar Province, Pavlodar [ 76º57'E 52º18'N ], 10.VII.1928 , V.I. Belizin ( ZISP ). Distribution. North-Eastern Kazakhstan . Remarks. The species is known from the holotype only from the north-eastern Kazakhstan (not from Russia , as stated by Dollfuss 2013a and Pulawski 2015 ).
