Thalli ligulate, delicate, light vinaceous-red, up to 6.0 cm. Branching rare, irregular in the basal region or absent (

). Blade margins are undulate and sometimes ruffled. Apex obtuse with prominent apical cell (

). Medullary region is thickened as a result of numerous condensed cells that resemble mid-veins (
Fig. 4 G, H
). Rhizines absent. Attachment by independent rhizoidal filaments (
Fig. 4 I, J
).
