Branching rare, irregular in the basal region or absent ( Fig. 3 B ). Blade margins are undulate and sometimes ruffled. Apex obtuse with prominent apical cell ( Fig. 4 F ). Medullary region is thickened as a result of numerous condensed cells that resemble mid-veins ( Fig. 4 G, H ). Rhizines absent. Attachment by independent rhizoidal filaments ( Fig. 4 I, J ).
