Diagnosis
: Two pairs of barbels, last unbranched dorsal fin spine serrated and very strong, usually 8 dorsal fin rays (never 10), fleshy and well-developed lips, and 47 or more lateral line scales.
Meristic characters
: D: IV 8–9 (8), A: III 5, P: 17–19, V: 8–9 (8), GR: 15–24, LL: 47–59, TV: 44.
Distribution
: Tigris and
Persis
basins (

). Found in Karun, Mond,
Sirvan
, Jarahi, Zohre, Rudbal, Fahlian, Dez, Qarah Aqaj, Shapor, Jarrahi, Zohre, Zemkan, Dalaki and Gamasiab rivers.
