has a wide distribution in the Indo-West Pacific, from
South Africa

Indonesia

Philippines
to
Marshall Islands
and Tuamotu Archipelago in
French Polynesia
(Chace & Bruce, 1993). The species is commonly found in brackish to fresh water in the lower reaches of rivers.
