Diagnosis
. The new species (
Figs. 1–2
) is externally similar to
Stigmatophora roseivena
(
Figs. 3–4
) and
Stigmatophora
(
Pseudomiltochrista
)
zolotuhini
(
Figs. 5–6
), but differs from
S. roseivena
by its slightly larger size, more angular forewings, and paler pinkish-yellow hindwings, whereas in
S. roseivena
forewings are more rounded and hindwings are pale red; from
S.
(
P.
)
zolotuhini
it differs by its significantly larger size, narrower and more angular forewings, broader red strokes on veins of forewings, red marginal area of forewings without submarginal transversal band, and paler, more yellowish hindwings, whereas in
S.
(
P.
)
zolotuhini
forewings are broader and with more rounded angles, the red strokes on veins of forewings are narrower, submarginal transversal band complete, the marginal area is yellow, and hindwings are more pinkish, with reddish suffusion on veins. The male genitalia of
P. confusa
(
Figs. 7–8
) principally differ from those of both externally similar species (
Figs. 9–10
).

Valve elongated and narrow, its distal half curved dorsally, costal margin with short and broad dorsal projection medially, apex with spine-like thorn. Sacculus narrow and short, reaching medial part of valve, with strong granulation and very short trigonal distal process with rounded apex. Distal half of valve curved dorsally, its ventral margin smooth, costal margin irregularly dentate; broad row of strong spine-like setae along ventral margin. Aedeagus elongated, distally curved and narrowed; vesica broad, with several bulbous membranous diverticula subbasally and medially, one broad elliptical diverticulum with granulation subapically, and one short and narrow apical diverticulum armed with long and narrow blade-like cornutus; basal plate of ductus ejaculatorius large, basally broad, heavily sclerotized.
