Material.
Lectotype, male (designated here), Paralectotype, 1 ♀ (designated here)—“Ex Musaeo Chaudoir” (MNHN).
Diagnosis.
This species is similar in overall appearance to
C. celer
, can be recognized easily by the bifid tooth of mentum and its larger body size.
Description.
Body length
10 mm
. Dorsal surface with dense yellow pubescence. Coloration of head metallic green with golden-red overtones. Pronotum dark purple on the disc, with green, golden and bluish lateral sides. Narrow lateral margin of pronotum yellow. Mouthparts, antennomeres and legs yellow. Antennomeres IV–XI slightly darker. Elytra metallic, dark green-blue in female and purple in male, external 4–5 intervals bright green, without yellow lateral band. Ventral surface iridescent, black, except narrow lateral band on last abdominal segment.
Head very shiny, without microreticulation; moderately punctate on vertex and near eyes. Pronotum transverse, 1.5—1.55 times as wide as long; without microreticulation. Punctation on disc very dense and regular, punctures large, separated by less one their diameters. On the sides of disc punctation much sparser. Lateral margins narrow. Hind angles of pronotum slightly acute in female and right in male. Elytral striae very deep, strongly punctured on base. Intervals slightly convex.
