Ecology. –
In
Singapore
, all records are from shallow, open or semi-shaded waterbodies in a primary freshwater swamp. The habitat is rich in rotten leaves and dense submerged vegetation.
Hydrovatus sumatrensis
may be attracted to light (Ullrich, in litt.).
