Not located ( Baig et al. 2012 ). TYPE LOCALITY. Salt Range , Punjab , Pakistan fide Smith (1935) . DISTRIBUTION. NW Punjab , Sind and Baluchistan ( Pakistan ) . DISTRIBUTION IN IRAN . Fig. 9 . Only a putative member of the Iranian herpetofauna for long until Rajabizadeh & Rastegar-Pouyani (2009) confirmed its occurrence in Sistan and Baluchistan Prov. HABITAT. Cliffs, boulders and rock crevices. Syntopic with L. nupta in SW Pakistan . REMARKS. The existence of the subspecies L. m. lirata (Blanford) to which all Iranian specimens have been referred is not supported by Baig et al. (2012) . The distinguishing characters (carinated scales and coloration) are apparently inconsistent and therefore not sufficient to recognize this form as an independent subspecies. REFERENCES.
