Type species: T. dactyloptera Hampson, 1905 , by monotypy. Hofmannia Pagenstecher, 1900 : 241 . Type species: H. septemdactyla Pagenstecher, 1900 , by monotypy. A junior homonym of Hofmannia Wocke, 1877 , in Heidemann Die Schmetterlinge deutschlands und der Schweiz 2 (2): 644. There is no objective replacement name but H. septemdactyla is currently considered to be congeneric with Triscaedecia dactyloptera Hampson, 1905 , the type species of Triscaedecia Hampson, 1905 ; the latter is thus available for use as a subjective replacement name ( Nye & Fletcher 1991 ). Diagnosis (modified from Meyrick 1910 , to address variation in maxillary palpi). Labial palpi long, second joint porrected, with projecting scales beneath, terminal joint shorter, ascending. Maxillary palpi variable in length, loosely scaled, porrected. Forewings evenly six-cleft from about two-thirds, cell moderate; 2 from two-thirds of cell, 7 and 8 stalked, 7 to apex, 9–11 separate. Hindwings evenly seven-cleft from beyond middle, segments occupied by 1b, 2, 3, 4, 6. 7, 8 respectively, 6 and 7 approximated at base.
