). The oVerall SpecieS' range iS Holarctic.
Variation.
Two morphotypeS of thiS SpecieS haVe been recorded from Mongolia—the typical one, with relatiVely Short Spire and prominently inflated body whorl (See fig. 4 A), and the Second that iS characterized by much more Slender Shell and oblong Spire (See fig. 4 B). Some authorS (
KrugloV & StarobogatoV 1985a
, 1993a) regarded the latter morphotype aS a Separate SpecieS,
Lymnaea fragilis
(L., 1758), howeVer it haS been Shown that there are no SubStantial genetic differenceS between low-Spired and high-Spired SnailS, and
L. fragilis
iS nothing but an intraSpecific morphotype (
Mezhzherin et al. 2008
; VinarSki
et al.
2012;
VinarSki 2014
,
2015a
).
