Rosenberg
et al.
(2009)
listed this species as occurring in the
Gulf
of
Mexico
and the Eastern Pacific. This species in fact occurs only in the Eastern Pacific. All Caribbean and
Gulf
of
Mexico
records are misidentifications of another unidentified species (M. Fernandes pers. com.
January 2020
). The records from
Odé (1989)
and Tunnel
et al.
(2010) are misidentifications of
Triphoris dupliniana
Olsson, 1916
(
Fernandes & Pimenta 2020
).
