A species distributed throughout of southwestern Africa ( Ferreira 1965 ; Allard 1991 ; Holm & Marais 1992 ; Beinhundner 2017a ). It seems to be a common species in the coastal lowland of Angola , namely in the proper Luanda city and neighbouring localities. Some adult specimens in Luanda (Nova Vida neighbourhood) were collected on the leaves of trees ( e.g. Mango trees) feeding on aphid honeydew. More biological and ecological data were provided by Holm & Marais (1992) . It is a new species record for the Bengo and Kwanza Sul Provinces.
