It has been found on various medium-sized to large mammal species, including carnivores (dog, tiger), bearded pigs ( Sus barbatus ), and domestic stock (horses, buffalo, cattle and pigs). It has also been found on humans ( Hoogstraal et al . 1972b ). The male, female and nymph are described in Hoogstraal et al . (1965b) .
