. The Lake Winnipeg males have an AR of 4.90–4.95(2), 15–17(2) sensilla chaetica in apical half of ta1 of p2 and 12–14(2) in apical half of ta1 of p3.

it is known from British

America
the species appears to be more common in mesotrophic to moderately oligotrophic lakes, while in Europe it is the character-form of the profundal zone of moderately eutrophic lakes (

). No larvae were caught in the bottom samples.
