In his “ Stirps Scatophaginae ”, rather than in the family Heleomyzidae, Rondani (1866d) described nine Palaearctic nominal species. Two are currently considered as valid, six as junior synonyms and one as doubtful ( Gorodkov 1984b , Canzoneri et al . 1995 ). In his paper on the Rondani types at MZUB, Morge (1959b) listed one unpublished name ( nomen nudum ) of Rondani. Papp (1980) designated a lectotype for Helomyza tuberiperda Rondani, 1866 in the MZUF. The type material has been recovered for all nominal species and is in the MZUF; additional syntypes of one species are in the MZLU.
