[May]; 1 ♂ , syntype ( MZUF : Box 57): Culex Lin. / articulatus Rndn. / 3017 / Ott. [October]; 1 ♂ , syntype ( MZUF : Box 57): Culex Lin. / articulatus Rndn. / 3017 / 19/8. CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Aedes vexans (Meigen, 1830) ( Minář 1991: 91 , Harbach 2018: 16 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1872a: 30) included Culex articulatus as a new species in a key but did not provide a detailed description, number or length of the specimens but provided specific characters for the male. Six syntypes were found in this study.
