CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Dear 1985: 130 ); junior synonym of Hemilucilia segmentaria ( Fabricius, 1805 ) ( James 1970: 7 , Mac-Lean & González 2006: 18 ); valid species, as Hemilucilia semidiaphana ( Kosmann et al . 2013: 76 , Wolff & Kosmann 2016: 863 , Velásquez et al . 2017: 115 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1850c: 177) described Mya semidiaphana from just the male sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, from material received from E. Truqui. Dear (1985: 130) reported the holotype in the MRSN.
