TYPE LOCALITY: “ In lucis montanis Parmae [ Parmese mountain woods ( Italy )]” . TYPE MATERIAL: not found in this study. CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Skuhravá 1986: 156 , Dahl et al. 1995: 26 ); unplaced species of Cecidomyiinae ( Gagné 2010: 421 ) ; nomen dubium in Cecidomyidae ( Gagné & Solinas 1996: 73 , Gagné & Jaschhof 2017: 574 ). REMARKS: Rondani (1840a: 17) described Dasineura luteofusca , without specifying either the number or the sex of the specimens, but giving a single measurement of length. Gagné & Solinas (1996: 73) reported that “… this species is not represented. Because it cannot be identified on the basis of Rondani’s sketchy description or be readily found again because its host is unknown, Dasineura luteofusca must be considered a “ nomen dubium ”. We could not locate any type specimens of this nominal species during our study.
