Notes:—
This species, along with
A. gilliesii
and
A. peruvianum
, reproduces vegetatively by scaly proliferous buds. The buds are located at the blade bases on fully developed leaves, or at the apex of an elongate petiole. In the latter case, development of the blade is delayed, giving the petiole the appearance of a stolon.
