Mimas tiliae
(Linnaeus, 1758)
Remarks.
There is a specimen of
Mimas tiliae
in SMCR labelled “
Pakistan
, Great Karakorum Mts., W of Chikar,
4000–4500 m
,
VIII. 2009
, leg. V. Gurko”. This is almost
2000 km
from the nearest previously known locality in the Aktubinsk region of northwest
Kazakhstan
, and over
2000 km
from the next closest localities in northern
Iran
and Krasnoyarsk Kray,
Russia
. Although the possibility of a relict montane population of
M. tiliae
in the Karakorum Mountains cannot be excluded, we consider the presence of this species in
Pakistan
unconfirmed until further specimens are forthcoming.
