Remarks . The specimens in the Zoological Museum of Moscow State University (ZMMU), with red labels: Podium maracandicum Radoszkowski (synonymized with Prionyx nigropectinatus ( Taschenberg 1869 ) by Kohl: 1885a : 183, 1885b: 165), without the name of a designator, with the labels of Alexei P. Fedtschenko: «Самаркандъ» [cyrillic] – June 9 , «Верхн.Заравш.» [cyrillic] – June 21 , «Кизилъкумъ» [cyrillic] – May 13 – are females of P. niveatus (Dufour 1853) . The description of the taxon ( Radoszkowski 1877 ) also agrees with the description of the female of P. niveatus , but does not agree with the description of the male of Prionyx nigropectinatus (Taschenberg) . I synonymize Prionyx afghaniensis (de Beaumont 1970 ) with Prionyx niveatus ( Dufour 1854 ) based on the examination of a photograph of the holotype and that of the original description.
