Diagnosis Mandibles with non-triturative molar; lacinia on left mandible modified, hypertrophied, expanded laterally. Coxal endite (5inner lobe) of maxillule unarmed. Fourth segment of maxillipedal palp (5propodus) with transverse row of four strong, rounded processes on anterior side of distomedial corner. Posterodistal corner of carpus of first gnathopod extended into finger-like process. Coxal gills present on pereopods 4–6. Pleopods with no trace of endopod and apparently lacking any secondary sexual modification. Uropods aequiramous, unmodified, rami unisegmented; basofacial spine present on protopod of first uropod. Telson wider than long, shallowly excavate. Etymology Generic name derived by combination of the Latin fidelitas (5loyalty; alluding to the type locality, the Loyalty Islands ) and the ending of Bogidiella (the name of the type genus of the family Bogidiellidae ). Type species Fidelidiella pectinata sp. nov. , described herein, by original designation.
