Labidostomis rufomarginata var. reymondi was described based on specimens with slightly wider orange elytral margins. However, this character is variable through the identiħed specimens of L. rufomarginata . Moreover, thevar. reymondi was described in a paper containing also descriptions of subspecies ( KOCHER 1959 ), thus it became infrasubspeciħc according to Article 45.6.4 of the Code ( ICZN 1999 ).
