Cook , coastal forest, flight-intercept trap , (1, JCC ) . Catops paramericanus was reported from New Brunswick and two sites on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia by Peck and Cook (2002) . It is newly reported herein from the mainland of Nova Scotia ( Fig 10 ). It is an abundant and widespread species in boreal forests, primarily collected from animal carrion and occasionally from owl pellets, decaying fungi, and in forest litter ( Peck and Cook 2002 ).
