The species are separated from other East Asian members of the genus by having hairy eyes, 9 flagellomeres, AR c. 0.8, partly semitransparent tergite IX, superior volsella more or less digitiform (not well visible), small, rounded and caudal inferior volsella. Emended description. Total length 1.44–1.54 mm , wing length 0.90–0.94 mm . Wing length / length of profemur: 3.0. Antenna with 9 flagellomeres ( 10 in original description), AR 0.79. Tentorium 125 µm long, 38 µm wide. Palpomeres length (in µm):15, 23, 30, 48, 153. Palpomere 2 ellipsoid, 3 and 4 rectangular, 5 long and slender; palpomeres 5/ 3: 5.1. Tergite IX partly semitransparent. Inferior volsella small and rounded. Transverse sternapodeme narrow, 23 µm long, with oral projections; phallapodeme median concave and slightly curved, 38 µm long. Gonocoxite 85 µm long with 1 long setae apically. Gonostylus 30 µm long, straight, apex with many setae. HR 2.8, HV 4.8. Distribution. Japan .
