COMMENTS:
In
the original description,
Hartert
designated as his
holotype
Flower’s
specimen no. 856 and listed other specimens of
lucidipectus
from many localities. A large number of specimens identified as
lucidipectus
by
Hartert
came to
AMNH
, but I have considered as
paratypes
only those specimens from localities specifically mentioned as well as all of
P.P.C. Zaphiro’s Ethiopian
specimens, although
Hartert
approximated ‘‘a dozen males.’’
