Mathews (1924
: pl. 509, opp. p. 210, text p. 220) figured an adult male collected on
24 November 1908
, noting in error that this was the type of
parryi
.
AMNH 699167
, with Mathews no. 2903, is the specimen designated as the
holotype
in the original description
;
the male collected on 24 November bears Mathews no. 2899 and is now
AMNH 699169
. Rogers’ label on
AMNH 699169
is marked ‘‘Type’’ by Mathews and a Rothschild type label has been filled in by someone other than Hartert
;
it had also been marked ‘‘type’’ in the
AMNH
catalog. The error was recognized by J.F[arrand] and the specimen returned to the regular collection with part of the type label cut off. It is a
paratype
. None of the specimens has a Mathews ‘‘Figured’’ label
.
