Chaetoceras pritchardi Womersley, 1936 . Type locality. Auckland, New Zealand . Remarks. Type species of Parachaetoceras was redescribed by Mitra (1984) based on a syntype determined by Womersley and on material from Salmon. This genus, as well as Plumachaetas , also has long antennae with long straight chaetae, but distinctly differs from the latter in presence of dental spines, and narrow scales. It is also similar to Paronana Womersley, 1939 in bidentate mucro, and the presence of a row of dental spines, but can be distinguished from the latter by the long antennae, the long straight antennal chaetae, and narrow scales (thickened chaetae and scaleless in Paronana ).
