Osbornellus chichiziensis
Domínguez & Godoy
,
sp. nov.
(
Figs. 47a–47e
)
Description.
Length:
5.7–6.3 mm
. Member of the
O. rarus
group (
Fig. 10
). Vertex angulate, median length about equal to distance between eyes at posterior margin. Apical band of vertex yellow, posterioly with black band slightly interrupted in center and this band reaching the ocelli, followed by an irregular yellow band, posteriorly with a brown area, with orange marks on the sides of the median line, rest of vertex brown. Pronotum mottled orange and brown, with orange mark in center. Scutellum brown–orange, slightly darker in basal angles (
Fig. 10
). Anterior wing similar to other species in this species group.
Male genitalia:
Pygofer about twice as long as greatest width, moderately projected, apex widey rounded; macrosetae long, dispersed along apical half of pygofer (
Fig. 47a
). Valve ovate, margins rounded and curved ventrally, curved in anterior half. Plates long, apex rounded, setae short (
Fig. 47b
). Style with apophysis short, apex truncate, with folds and ventral lobe (
Fig. 47c
). Aedeagus in ventral view slightly wide at base; shaft straight, narrow, shorter than ventral processes, apex pointed (
Fig. 47d
). Ventral processes arising at one-third length of aedeagus, separate from base, curved, slightly divergent, wide, apices pointed; ventral processes rugose for most of their length. In lateral view shaft slightly wide at base, shorter than ventral processes, apex truncate; dorsal projection wide, tip exapanded and truncate. Gonopore apical. Ventral processes curved basally, very separated from shaft at base, narrow, apices pointed, rugose for most of their length (
Fig. 47e
).
Diagnosis.
Very similar to
O. freytagi
and
O. blantoni
in genitalic characteristics. In lateral view
O. chichiziensis
has the aedeagal shaft well separated from the ventral processes. In
O. freytagi
and
O. blantoni
the shaft is slightly wider and very close to the ventral processes.
