Remarks . Ethusina rowdeni was previously known only by the male holotype from the southern Kermadec Ridge (whakatane Seamount, Bay of Plenty ; 1292–1336 m ). The present specimens extend the known bathymetric range and the geographic range westwards to southeastern Australia . The Australian specimen (NMV J72625 ) is the largest recorded of the species. The gonopods of the juvenile male (NIwA 31725) are incompletely developed; both are elongated but gonopod 2 is as yet separate from, rather than enclosed by gonopod 1. Distribution . Northern New Zealand from seamounts in the Bay of Plenty , westwards to the Challenger Plateau; for the first time from eastern Australia ; 914–1336 m .
