Remarks
Gao
et al
. (2018)
described
Miridiba xingkei
based on the male
holotype
and thirteen
paratypes
(
4 males
and
9 females
) conserved in IZCAS and NWAFU of
China
. This species shows features that characterize genital morphotype IX “
Ciliatipennis
”. The parameres have the characteristic dorsal tubular complex (
Gao
et al
. 2018
: figs
3g
–i) with dorsal and ventral branches (upper and lower parts) (
Gao
et al
. 2018
: fig. 3h) forked at distal end (
Gao
et al
. 2018
: fig.
3g
), showing in lateral view the distinctive concavity at distal end (
Gao
et al
. 2018
: fig. 3h). On the other hand, the ventral branches appear reduced but obvious, fused laterally to dorsal tubular complex forming an apparent lateral scar (
Gao
et al
. 2018
: figs 3h–i). According to these features, we include
M. xingkei
in the genital morphotype IX “
Ciliatipennis
”.
Distribution
China
(
Yunnan
).
